Do you have inquiries regarding our operations or our methods? Our approachable team will gladly guide you through the process. Meanwhile, here you can explore responses to frequently asked questions.

DO YOU TAKE EVERYTHING AWAY?

Many customers typically request the removal of debris from the site, a detail often outlined in the quotation. However, woodchips serve as beneficial garden mulch, leading to an increasing number of clients asking for them to be retained for personal use. Additionally, timber may have value as firewood, though it's not typically left in sizes suitable for immediate use unless specifically requested.

WILL MY NEIGHBOURS BE AFFECTED?

Occasionally, it may be necessary to access a neighboring property, particularly when dealing with overhanging branches. Please inform them in advance of your intentions and the scheduled date for the work. While our team is always polite and considerate, it's important to avoid surprising neighbors who may return home to find individuals on their property without prior notice, which could cause inconvenience.

DO I NEED PERMISSION TO WORK ON MY TREE?

Tree Preservation Orders (TPO): A TPO is a legal directive issued by the District Council as the Local Planning Authority (LPA), prohibiting the pruning, felling, or intentional harm to a tree covered by the order without the Authority’s consent. If a tree falls under a TPO, a formal application to the relevant authority is necessary. The council is then allotted 8 weeks to process the application and reach a decision. Penalties for unauthorized work on a protected tree can be substantial, reaching up to £20,000, underscoring the importance of verifying if a tree is protected.

Conservation Area: All trees within Conservation Areas enjoy protection, with the exception of those with a diameter less than 7.5cms (measured 1.5m above the ground). Proposed work on such trees must be formally communicated to the Local Planning Authority, which has a 6-week period to review the proposal. No work should commence during this time, as it may result in significant fines.

Pride Tree Care can streamline the entire process by submitting an application on your behalf. Please discuss this with the estimator during their visit or inquire with our office staff for assistance.

How do you determine the cost of tree surgery?

The cost of tree surgery can vary depending on several factors, including the size and type of the tree, the complexity of the work required, accessibility to the tree, and any additional services needed, such as stump removal or tree preservation measures. Whilst visiting the property to provide a free quote, we typically conduct a thorough assessment of the tree and its surroundings to accurately gauge the scope of work involved. This allows us to provide a transparent and competitive pricing estimate tailored to the specific needs of the project. We strive to ensure our pricing reflects the quality of our services and the expertise of our team, while also remaining fair and competitive within the industry.

What methods do you use for tree pruning and removal?

Our tree pruning and removal methods are carefully selected based on the specific requirements of each tree and the desired outcome of the work. We utilize a range of techniques, including selective pruning to promote tree health and structural integrity, crown reduction to manage tree size and shape, and deadwood removal to eliminate potential hazards. When it comes to tree removal, we employ safe and efficient practices, such as sectional dismantling for large or confined spaces and straight felling for trees with adequate clearance. Our team is trained in industry best practices and adheres to safety standards to ensure the successful completion of each tree surgery project with minimal disruption and risk.

In cases where climbing is necessary, our trained arborists use advanced techniques with ropes, harnesses, and chainsaws to access and work on the tree safely. Climbing a tree with this equipment requires extensive training and experience to ensure the climber's safety and the integrity of the tree. Our climbers undergo rigorous training and certification to proficiently navigate the tree canopy, make precise cuts, and safely descend, all while minimizing any impact on the surrounding environment.
